Icelandic low-fare carrier PLAY has expanded its partnership with Dohop with the launch of its retail platform PLAY Connect.

The platform will enable travellers to book flight connections across multiple airline partners, including ancillaries, in a single booking process.

With 80 new destinations available, and an additional 600 new weekly flight connections, this platform allows the carrier to bring its customers new destinations across the US, Canada, the Nordics, and the Greek islands.

Bookings made through PLAY Connect are covered by Dohop’s passenger connection service, which provides assistance in the case of flight delays or cancellations. This new platform marks PLAY’s third year partnering with the interline solutions provider.

“Aligning with Dohop early in our journey, initially as a supplier, has proven to be smart as it has considerably extended the reach of our brand,” commented Tatiana Shirokova, Head of Distribution at PLAY airlines.

Sarah Hanan, CCO of Dohop, added: “We are delighted to expand our collaboration with PLAY airlines to support their growth ambitions. PLAY has built a very impressive network within three years and we look forward to enabling further partnerships for them, making connected travel simpler and more accessible.”

This latest announcement follows a push by the airline to expand its route offerings to its customers. It recently partnered with GO7 to broaden its route offering across Europe and North America, providing its passengers with accessible and convenient travel options.

PLAY, which started operations in June 2021, flies to 36 destinations in Europe and five in North America from Iceland. Its fleet consists of 10 Airbus A320/A321neo aircraft, and is aiming for a fleet of 20 A320 family aircraft by 2030.
