AirBaltic has chosen Recaro Aircraft Seating’s R2 seat for its Airbus A220-300 aircraft, with delivery expected to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Features on the seat include an enhanced cushion for the seat bottom and backrest, an integrated headrest, and USB-C power at each seat – all designed to enhance the comfort and connectivity of passengers during their flight.

“Teaming up with airBaltic marks an exciting opportunity for us at RECARO,” said Mark Hiller, CEO of RECARO Aircraft Seating and RECARO Holding. “Our R2 will elevate passenger comfort within the airBaltic cabin to new levels, and I am confident this collaboration is the beginning of a long-lasting partnership.”

Celebrating eight years as the launch operator of the A220-300 aircraft, Martin Gauss, President and CEO of airBaltic, added: “To elevate the passenger comfort and travel experience even more, we are excited to reveal our plans to collaborate with RECARO Aircraft Seating on our new seat offer, which will benefit the airBaltic passengers travelling within the airline’s wide network in Europe and beyond.”

The R2 seat forms a part of Recaro’s new naming strategy, ranging from R1 to R7, to reflect various classes and seating complexities and streamline the company’s portfolio for its customers.
