Scoot, the low-fare subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has started operating its first Embraer E190-E2 aircraft, operating its inaugural flights to Krabi and Hat Yai.

The E190-E2 aircraft, which includes 112 seats with a standard seat pitch of 29 inches, is the first of two aircraft received by Scoot. The second E190-E2 aircraft arrived in Singapore and is in the final phase of preparations for its operations. The remaining seven aircraft are expected to be delivered by the end of 2025.

Scoot’s Chief Executive Officer, Leslie Thng, said that the E190-E2 was a “natural choice as we looked to grow Scoot’s fleet.”  With the addition of these aircraft, the carrier will continue to strengthen its presence in the region and “enhance our connectivity to non-metro destinations,” added Thng.

In March, Scoot unveiled the first six routes the low-fare carrier would take with these new jets. The addition of two new destinations, Koh Samui and Sibu, will increase Scoot’s destinations total to 69. Currently, Scoot flies to 67 destinations across 15 countries and territories across Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and Europe.
