Porter Airlines has launched its first Western Canada route between Montreal and Vancouver.

The new route will be flown by Porter’s E195-E2 jets and start with one daily round-trip flight. The scheduled service offers several different connections to Eastern Canada via Montreal, including Toronto-Pearson, Halifax, and Toronto City.

Its codeshare with partner airline Air Transat will provide wider connections to passengers from Montreal to transatlantic destinations such as Paris and London.

Porter will launch further services later this spring, with Montreal to Edmonton and Calgary. Once these are operational, Porter will operate eight non-stop routes out of Montreal.

Kevin Jackson, President of Porter Airlines, said: “Our presence in Montreal is continuing to grow directly through new Porter services and with our strategic airline partnerships.”

“ADM Aéroports de Montréal is thrilled with the addition of Vancouver to the destinations offered by its partner, Porter. Whether it’s for business or to explore the landscapes of Western Canada, this new nonstop service offers a range of options for passengers departing from YUL,” added Mark Ruel, Director, Capacity and Air Service Development, ADM Aéroports de Montréal.
