Air Serbia fully renews regional fleet with 10th ATR 72-600 delivery

By June 17, 2024 Low-fare Airline

Air Serbia has taken delivery of its 10th ATR 72-600 on 14 June, and it is expected to be added to the regional fleet in the next few days. This delivery marks the finalisation of the Belgrade-based airline’s fleet renewal process, which started in January 2022.

Since January, the airline has seen a steady delivery of ATR 72-600s, the first arriving in January, and delivering roughly four aircraft a year. Before this replacement, Air Serbia previously used ATR 72-200 and ATR 72-500s, with this fleet replacement being a “key strategic objective” for the airline, its CEO, Jiri Marek, said.

“Despite challenging market conditions, we have managed to acquire as many as 10 aircraft of the same type, thus standardising our fleet. The average age of aircraft in our regional fleet is now 9 years, making it the youngest in the broader Western Balkans region. We are extremely pleased with the choice of aircraft and the pace of their entry into service,” he added.

Air Serbia operates more than twenty routes from Belgrade, which include Bari, Budapest, Krakow, Ljubljana, Prague, Sarajevo, Skopje, Sofia, Venice, Vienna, and Zagreb.
